Delicious Disney World Offerings – Desserts and Snacks

Think back to when you were a child. Did you have a favorite Disney dessert? Maybe you were fond of frozen bananas, but didn’t more chocolate ended up on your los angeles dodgers new york yankees t shirt than in your mouth? Of did you look forward to a bag of delicious popcorn coated in butter and salt? Maybe you were lucky enough to get the chocolate covered ice cream in the shape of Mickey Mouse? Here are some favorite desserts at Walt Disney World. Maybe you’ll find your favorite here or pick a new one on your next trip.

Ice Cream

Ice cream is kind of a no-brainer, but you do with it after you scoop it is what makes it special. You can find soft serve or standard scoops, floats, shakes and smoothies all over the park. Sundaes can be found in Fantasyland, on Main Street and at Hollywood Studios. They even come in different and exciting forms, from the standard and nostalgic to strawberry shortcake sundaes, or surrounded by M & Ms and fluffy cotton candy.

Chocolate

Disney doesn’t like to be outdone, so everything has that “little something extra.” Chocolate hazelnut volcano cake from Kona at the Polynesian resort does not disappoint. Ask for two spoons and share with a friend. It’s super decadent! The Animal Kingdom’s Mara has a “Paw Print” brownie that is another guest favorite.

Nostalgic Desserts

50’s Prime Time Café at Hollywood Studios offers a blast from the past. Chewy, crunchy s’mores and a monster sundae called “Dad’s Sundae,” which seems to contain every confection they could find, are two favorites there. Not to be outdone, Pop Century gives a bit of a nod to the 1960s with Twinkie tiramisu and tie-dye cheesecake.

Sweet Treats Faraway Lands

Epcot has a wide variety of location-themed desserts. They are definitely not to be missed. At Kringla Bakerlog Café, the Norwegian rice cream is a creamy, dreamy masterpiece. Similar to rice pudding, but lighter and fluffier. Boulangerie Patisserie has crispy, cream-filled French chocolate éclairs. Tangierine Café has flakey, honey-drenched Moroccan baklava. Who can resist that?

Healthier Choices

For those not opting to wear their elastic-waisted pants after their vacation, Walt Disney World also offers some healthier desserts. At Epcot, Kaki-Gori offers shaved ice available with a number of fruity flavors to choose from, such as tangerine, strawberry and honeydew. Aloha Isle at the Magic Kingdom offers pineapple spears, which are a wonderful, refreshing sweet treat.
